in 2005, i worked as the 2nd a.d on an independent film called “bunker hill”. during this time, i became very close friends with the lead p.a, becca. we spent many nights chatting till the wee hours, we shared hotel rooms during filming, and crashed middle-of-no-where-kansas-townie bars. this period of my life, is one i look back on with fond memories.
acouple years later, i moved to chicago; becca moved to l.a. but through the powers of [then myspace] facebook, we’ve been able to keep in touch.
fast forward to almost two years ago. becca calls me. “i’m going to ask britt to marry me” i was so excited, and i’m pretty sure a squealfest ensued for several minutes following. i told her to keep me posted on the plans, because there was no way i could ever miss this. at this point i figured they would hire some hollywood photographer big shot, and i would just be a guest. i was so happily wrong. 🙂 over christmas, britt came home with becca. we got to finally meet and hang out. and then they popped me the question. “will you shoot our wedding?” to say i was honored was an understatement. i think i cried.
i’ve never seen becca so happy. so complete. so calm. not that she was a spazz before, but she’s. . .i don’t know exactly how to explain it. . . she’s peaceful.
and britt. i love that girl. but, i hate to admit this. . i’m horrible at remembering names when i first meet people. sometimes i have to play a little rhyming game to help me remember. . britt’s was “quick wit britt” 🙂 i’ve never told anyone that. but it’s true. she’s smart, witty and absolutely adorable.
as sad as i was to see becca move to l.a. . i’m so incredibly happy that these two found each other.
ladies; thank you, thank you, thank you, for giving me the opportunity and honor to document your wedding. it was amazing, just like you two. thank you to your families for being so gracious and giving, and really making me feel more like family than “hired help”. but above all i thank your families for raising such amazing people.

Absolutely amazing!! You did a fantastic job… EXCELLENT PICS that really capture Britt and Becca! Becca Jane has always held a special place in my heart from the moment I first saw her in the hospital (with her Mom and Dad, my baby brother 🙂 until now when I see her so strong and sure of herself and so confident in her love for Britt. Wonderful wedding and you captured it beautifully! (Becca’s favorite Aunt Coke 🙂
